WANdisco LiveData Migrator Attains AWS Migration Competency Status
By Shelly Koglin, Sep 01, 2020
Most enterprises are well into their digital transformation journey, and cloud migration initiatives are a big part of it.
Covid-19 has further accelerated the urgency for companies to move to the cloud. A recent study found that 87% of surveyed organizations said the pandemic has accelerated their cloud migration plans with 95% of their workloads expected to be in the cloud within five years.
AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify Consulting and Technology APN Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.
WANdisco recently achieved this Amazon Web Services (AWS) Migration Competency status, which recognizes that WANdisco LiveData Migrator provides a high-quality data lake migration and replication platform to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across any environment (e.g. on-premises, on-premises and cloud hybrid, hybrid cloud or multi-region). That means that AWS customers who want to quickly and easily migrate their large-scale on-premises Hadoop data lake into the cloud can depend on WANdisco to automatically migrate or replicate data with zero business downtime. WANdisco LiveData Migrator is the only platform that allows production applications on-premise to continue to operate while data is migrating and under active change.
This achievement distinguishes WANdisco as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member and adds yet another distinction to its innovative cloud migration technology . The company has reliably demonstrated that it provides specialized technical proficiency with a proven customer success track record of data migration. The company is the only ISV certified for Data Lake Migration in the new Workload Mobility for Data Migration category.
“Data inconsistencies and downtime are simply not an option for enterprises seeking to modernize their on-premises data lakes and applications by moving them to the cloud,” said David Richards, Chairman and CEO of WANdisco. “Our solution makes it easy for enterprises to instantly and automatically migrate data while minimizing costs and IT resources. WANdisco is committed to helping enterprises accelerate their path to the AWS cloud with the agility, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides.”
WANdisco LiveData Migrator delivers cloud migrations with zero downtime, ensuring data consistency while changes occur, and matching or exceeding the same data integrity levels once that data lands in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). With its acceptance into the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP), WANdisco has demonstrated successful methodologies and a proven track record of delivering large-scale legacy migrations with the people, process and technology capabilities available to help AWS customers with petabyte scale migrations. With LiveData Migrator, customers can confidently complete data lake migrations quickly with enhanced time to value so they can invest in machine learning cloud analytics and all of the other innovations available in AWS.
We will continue to see cloud migration play a critical role in adapting to the new-Covid and post-Covid reality. WANdisco LiveData Migrator can support the key use cases for cloud migration and replication of business-critical data to take advantage of including cloud economics, flexibility, tooling and machine learning-based cloud analytics capabilities. WANdisco solves all migration scenarios, including one-way migration, hybrid data estate, disaster recovery, backup and cloud burst. In a changing world with tight economic constraints, it is advantages like these that can make a big difference to an organization’s bottom line.
