Stefan Küng, TortoiseSVN's Lead Developer to Head WANdisco's Efforts to Support The Number 1 Subversion Client.

San Ramon, CA March 15th, 2010 – WANdisco, a leading provider of infrastructure software for replication, scalability, high availability and commercial sponsor of the Subversion open source project, today announced that Stefan Küng, the lead developer for TortoiseSVN has joined the company. Mr. Küng, who has been working on TortoiseSVN since its inception, will lead WANdisco's efforts to support and enhance this popular Subversion client for Windows as part of its sponsorship and support of the Subversion open source project.

WANdisco previously announced the hiring of a team of core Subversion committers led by Hyrum Wright, WANdisco's Director of Open Source. Hyrum has served as President of the Subversion Corporation and has been the Subversion project's release manager for the past two years.

"I am very pleased to be joining WANdisco," said Küng. "WANdisco has an incredibly talented team of senior committers and they have customers with the largest Subversion implementations in the world. I believe WANdisco's considerable resources and expertise guarantee the continued success of TortoiseSVN as well as the Subversion project overall."

Stefan has been the lead developer for TortoiseSVN since the beginning. In addition to his open source work, Stefan has held senior positions in software and hardware design and engineering for over ten years. He holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland and is fluent in both German and English.

"We're delighted that Stefan has agreed to join us and lead our efforts to support TortoiseSVN," said David Richards, President and CEO of WANdisco. "The lack of real support for Subversion clients from other sources is always mentioned when we talk to customers and we can provide that. Our goal is to offer the best Subversion support services available and that includes not only providing support for the most popular Subversion clients, but adding enterprise features to them as well."
