WANdisco Offers Free Online Subversion Training
WANdisco is currently offering a series of free online one hour bi-weekly Subversion training classes through July 28, 2010. The following classes are scheduled:
- " All About Subversion Hook Scripts" on May 19, 2010. During this course, attendees will learn how to use Subversion hook scripts for: email notification of events, commit validation, automatic backup of changes, integration with issue trackers and other external systems and much more.
- "Using Subversion Locking" on June 2, 2010. Attendees will learn how and when to use Subversion locking to control access to files during development. Alternatives to using locking to control file access will also be discussed.
- "All About Subversion Checkouts" on June 16, 2010. Although checkout is the most frequently used Subversion command, it has many options that few users are aware of. During this course, attendees will learn how to make full use of the checkout command and understand the messages it generates under different usage scenarios.
- "Using the Subversion Diff Command" on June 30, 2010. From simple to complex scenarios, the diff command can show the differences between versions of files as well as differences between Subversion projects. During this course, the instructor will cover the diff command using TortoiseSVN's difference tool as well as linking TortoiseSVN to other difference programs.
- "Branching and Merging in Subversion 1.6.9" on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. During this free one hour training session, attendees will learn everything from branching and merging basics to best practices.
- "Introduction to Subversion for Developers" on July 28, 2010. Subversion's architecture and design principles will be covered and attendees will be introduced to using Subversion.
