Jenkins Support

Happy New Year from WANdisco!

At WANdisco HQ we’re staring 2012 as we mean to go on: with a string of announcements! Firstly, we are pleased to announce an exciting new addition to uberSVN and uberAPPS: professional support for Jenkins. Jenkins has been available as an easy-to-install app through uberSVN since last year, and now we are adding a Jenkins support option that is backed by CloudBees, the home of Jenkins founder Kohsuke Kawaguchi and Jenkins Enterprise by CloudBees. And the uberAPPS updates keep on coming: this month, we have also added crowdsourcing functionality from the world’s largest marketplace for software testing services, courtesy of our friends at uTest.

We were also pleased to see that the Bloodhound project is now an official Apache Incubator podling. As WANdisco is sponsoring some of the initial committers, we’re excited to see Bloodhound taking its first steps to becoming a fully-fledged Apache project. We’re looking forward to seeing some great first releases from Bloodhound.

A Happy New Year from everyone at WANdisco! We have plenty more announcements in store throughout 2012, so stay tuned!

Jenkins Support

Professional Jenkins Support Comes to uberSVN...

As uberSVN fans will already know, Jenkins has been available as a free, easy-to-install download through uberSVN since April 2011. Now, we’re extending our partnership with CloudBees to offer professional support for Jenkins, to uberSVN users. Jenkins professional support users get access to highly experienced Subversion and Jenkins support staff, with 24-by-7 worldwide coverage. Simply visit the uberAPPS store now from inside your uberSVN installation, to purchase professional support for Jenkins.

“We’re thrilled to be working with WANdisco to support uberSVN users in getting the most out of Jenkins. This new offering provides an incredibly easy way for uberSVN users to deploy and use Jenkins either on-premise or in the cloud with the assurance of formal technical support,” said Steven G. Harris, senior vice president of products at CloudBees.

uTest

...and New Crowdsourcing App for uberSVN Users

And the updates to uberSVN and uberAPPS keep on coming! We are pleased to announce a new partnership with our friends at uTest, the world’s largest marketplace for software testing services, to bring uTest functionality to uberSVN users. uTest offer a range of testing types for web, desktop and mobile apps across all the major operating systems, backed by a community of over 45,000 on-demand professional testers from 180 counties. Bronze and Silver uTest packages are now available from WANdisco, simply visit the uberAPPS store from within your uberSVN installation, to purchase uTest’s unique testing services.

Bloodhound

WANdisco Supports New Apache Bloodhound Project

It’s no secret WANdisco is a big fan of open source, so we’re excited to see that the Bloodhound project has taken its first step to becoming a fully-fledged Apache Software Foundation project: Bloodhound has been voted into the Apache Incubator by the Apache community!

The Apache Bloodhound project will provide a software collaboration tool based on the code base of the well-known Trac project, and will include issue tracking, a wiki, and repository browsing. It will further build on Trac by incorporating some of the most popular plugins, to create a more complete distribution than your typical Trac installation. One of the Apache Bloodhound project’s core goals, is to create a strong developer community around the Trac code base in a vendor-neutral location. Trac has already included a potential Bloodhound project on its list of derivatives. At WANdisco, we are excited to get involved in this new project, by sponsoring some of the initial committers.

Check out the Bloodhound webpage for all the latest info on the project.

uberSVN

uberSVN - Now Available for Government Agencies

After receiving feedback from government agencies eager to deploy our award-winning uberSVN open platform for Subversion, we have updated our licensing terms and conditions. Now, anyone who represents agencies, departments, or any other entity of the United States Government can use uberSVN. We hope you’ll enjoy using our software, and if you have anymore feedback on uberSVN, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Webinar

Free Webinars - Back for 2012

Throughout 2011, WANdisco offered a series of free bi-weekly hour long online training sessions for Subversion users and administrators. Due to the popularity of these webinars with the Subversion community, not only will our free training webinars make a return in 2012, but we’ve already delivered the first of the new series! The first webinar of 2012, showed attendees how to unlock the power of properties in Subversion, covering everything from creating and populating properties, to hook scripts, and using properties for control. The next webinar in the series will be ‘TortoiseSVN 1.7 New Features’. Early registration is recommended, as spaces are limited. We’ll be adding more courses throughout the year, so keep checking back to make sure you don’t miss out on any of our free Subversion trainings.

Missed a webinar? Don't forget, we’ll be adding past webinars to our Webinar Replay page. Keep checking back, for all the latest content.

Tip of the week

Subversion Tip of the Week

You may have noticed we’ve launched a new section at the WANdisco blog. Subversion Tip of the Week brings you a new snippet of SVN advice every Monday. We’ve already covered hidden TortoiseSVN commands, filtering log messages, and the “Import in Place” procedure, but now we need your feedback - what tips would help you get the most out of Subversion? Post your ideas for tips at the blog, or send us them directly via email or Twitter.

TortoiseSVN

TortoiseSVN 1.7.4 Released

A new version of TortoiseSVN, the popular Windows client for Apache Subversion, has been released. TortoiseSVN 1.7.4 is linked against Subversion 1.7.2, the latest and greatest bug fix release in the 1.7 series. This release of TortoiseSVN optimizes the repo browser for large repositories, and adds the ability to turn off case-fixing. It also fixes a list of TortoiseSVN-specific bugs. As ever, the latest version of TortoiseSVN can be downloaded for free from our website.

Need some extra help with your TortoiseSVN implementation? WANdisco offer enterprise-class support for TortoiseSVN, which includes 24 x 7 support, named support contacts and online case tracking.
