Happy spring! As well as enjoying the nice weather, everyone at WANdisco has been busy creating new products for our award winning uberSVN platform, completely redesigning our website, getting the latest 1.6.18 binaries ready for Subversion users and, excitingly, finally bringing uberSVN out of beta! It’s been another busy month - read on to find out what we’ve been up to.
WANdisco.com Gets a Face Lift
As regular visitors will no doubt have already noticed, we launched a completely redesigned WANdisco.com earlier this month. With this update, we’ve concentrated on making our website easier to navigate and more user friendly, and we’re sure you’ll agree that this is a major improvement on our old website. Feedback? Suggestions? As always, don’t hesitate to contact us! We hope you like the new website as much as we do.
uberSVN is Officially out of Beta!
With the release of 12.04 ‘Chimney House,’ uberSVN officially came out of beta! A massive thank you to everyone who has downloaded, deployed, and provided feedback on the beta release - we couldn’t have done it without you!
As well as taking us out of beta, the 12.04 release introduced many new features, including:
- A new plugin API architecture and core upgrade that allows WANdisco registered plugins to work with uberSVN.
- Subversion Access Control 4.1’s LDAP functionality.
- A new file upload function.
- A new option to subscribe to our Latest Release Channel or wait for us to deliver fixes highlighted by our early adopters in a Stable Release Channel.
- ...and more!
Major Update with Subversion MultiSite 4.1
Following on from the announcement of Subversion Access Control 4.1, we’re pleased to announce a major update to another of WANdisco’s Enterprise Subversion products, Subversion MultiSite 4.1. Subversion MultiSite 4.1 marks a major update for this Enterprise product, including completely redesigned LDAP support, a dedicated log for all access control activity, and seamless integration with Subversion Access Control, for users looking to deploy a complete solution stack.
Want to try our Enterprise Subversion components before you buy? We have free downloads of both Subversion MultiSite and Subversion Access Control, waiting to be evaluated.
New Webinars Announced
As part of our commitment to the Subversion community, we run bi-weekly free training webinars, and have just announced the next few webinars in the series. Over the next few months, we’ll cover everything from advanced branching and merging, the checkout and commit commands, and even a back-to-basics introduction to Subversion. Places are limited, so register now to avoid disappointment.
WANdisco Partners with A Better Solution
We are pleased to announce another new WANdisco partner: A Better Solution, Inc (ABS), a US-based company that specializes in Rational CM consulting, tools and products. This partnership will allow ABS and WANdisco to leverage each other’s technical resources.
"We are excited about our new partnership with WANdisco. The partnership allows each company the access to experts from another CM tool space when needed for projects that require expertise in both tool spaces," said Charles Clarke III, Founder and CEO of A Better Solution, Inc. “The customer clearly wins as they have access to a wider area of expertise from each company."
ABS' position on the GSA Schedule will help us to further improve the services we offer to our existing customer base within the government sector, and to attract even more customers in the future.

Happy Birthday, uberSVN!
This is an exciting time for everyone at WANdisco, as uberSVN turned one this week! uberSVN, the free, open ALM platform for Apache Subversion is now officially one year old. It’s hard to believe uberSVN has only been around for twelve months: not only has this unique, SVN-based product already been awarded the Made in Sheffield mark and Business IT Innovation of the Year medal, but it’s also received an incredibly positive response from the community, with over 17,000 installations, more than 74,000 downloads and fantastic reviews by the IT media.
Thank you for all your support over the past year!
