Subversion Live Success, Apache Software Foundation Sponsorship, New Certified Binaries and Great Training Courses
2011 is still young but it's already been highly productive for WANdisco! Our first Subversion Live conference in Silicon Valley was a tremendous success. Snowstorms forced us to reschedule the Boston conference to March 22, but Subversion Live London went ahead as planned and was another great success. Everyone who attended the conferences said they wanted to come back next year, so we're making Subversion Live even bigger and better for 2012. Meanwhile we've introduced new training courses, expanded our operations in Asia, become sponsors of the Apache Software Foundation and stepped up our involvement in the Subversion community. Yes, it's been hectic - but in a great way!
Also hot of the press, Apache Subversion 1.6.16 was released today and of course WANdisco is the first to have binaries available within minutes of the official announcements.
Supporting the Apache Software Foundation
Anyone familiar with WANdisco already knows that we are highly committed to the Subversion community. We demonstrated this commitment even further recently, by becoming an Apache Software Foundation (ASF) sponsor. Sponsorship of the non-profit, volunteer-run Foundation will help aid organizational, legal and financial support for a broad range of Apache licensed projects. Through a collaborative development process Apache projects deliver freely available software that attracts large communities of users. The pragmatic Apache License makes it easy for all users, both commercial and individual, to deploy Apache products. "The Apache Software Foundation has led the way in community open source development since 1999," said David Richards, CEO of WANdisco. "The entire Subversion community benefits enormously from ASF support. WANdisco is pleased and proud to join ASF as a sponsor."
Subversion Live Rescheduled for Boston
Subversion Live will hit Boston on March 22 after severe weather prevented the original event from going ahead as planned, so there's still time to register. Following a cocktail reception on the evening of March 21, Hyrum Wright, WANdisco's Director of Open Source and the release manager for the Subversion project for the past three years, will lead the event, covering all of the major new Subversion features, with particular emphasis on the upcoming release of SVN 1.7. Attendees will learn from the experts, exchange ideas and build relationships with other Subversion users, as well as participate in shaping Subversion's future.
In the words of those who attended Subversion Live in Silicon Valley:
"After networking with Subversion admins from other companies and meeting the Subversion developers I know who to contact and where to find solutions."
"One of the best aspects of the conference was all of the detailed information about 1.7. Now I can really prepare my admins and developers for what's coming."
"Great conference and great value. I'll definitely be back next year!"

Training For All Your Needs!
The popularity of our free online training continues with four courses taking place during March including Subversion Administration Best Practices, Enterprise Hardened Subversion (in both American and European-friendly time zones), Advanced Subversion Administration and Getting Started with Subversion - http://www.wandisco.com/training/webinars.
Due to overwhelming demand, we'll be making videos of our free Subversion training webinars available for download in the near future. Soon thereafter we'll be offering our Subversion for Developers and Subversion for Administrators classes on-demand as well. For those who don't have time to attend a class and want to take it at their own pace, this new training option will be ideal. Stay tuned for further announcements as our roll out progresses.
